Cocos Island, located 600 km (approx. 320 nautical miles) off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, is one of the most beautiful jewels in the Costa Rican National Park system. Of the principal islands of the Eastern Tropical Pacific (Cocos, Clipperton, Malpelo and Galapagos), it is the only one that receives sufficient rainfall to support a tropical rain forest. Since Cocos is an oceanic island, it has relatively few species, some having their origin as far away as the Indian Ocean. Escape to Cocos Island a lush, green uninhabited island resting 375 miles off Costa Rica's Pacific coast. Rocky pinnacles surrounding Cocos are beacons for big animals and big action. Schooling hammerheads, countless white-tip sharks, mantas, tuna and even whale sharks call Cocos home. Weather permitting, Okeanos guests are shuttled ashore to hike through the jungles of Cocos and swim in her many waterfalls. Eight-day charters are Saturday to Sunday with five days of diving and ten-day trips are Tuesday to Friday with seven days of diving. The Okeanos sets off from the port town of Punteranas. Transfers from San Jose are provided on the day of departure. An overnight stay is required in San Jose prior to the charter.

Day 01 :
Overnight in San Jose, Costa Rica. We recommend staying at the host hotels; Marriot Courtyard Hotel or The Alta Hotel.

Day 02 :
Meet at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel orThe Alta Hotel in San Jose for transfer to boat. 2 hr bus ride to Puntarenas. After boarding the Undersea Hunter will depart for Cocos Island.

Day 3 :
The 300 mile journey to Cocos Island.

Day 4 :
Early morning arrival at Cocos and diving begins.

Day 5-9 :
Eat, Sleep, Dive. Diving ends afternoon. Evening departure from Cocos to
Puntarenas.

Day 10 :
Travel at sea.

Day 11 :
7:00 a.m. checkout. Arrive in Puntarenas andtransfer from bus to the airport, Marriot Courtyard Hotel or The Alta Hotel in San Jose.

What to Bring (General Info)

CLOTHING
While aboard, dress is very casual. Days are warm, bright and sunny. However, evenings can be cool and
drizzly so we recommend packing a sweatshirt and windbreaker.
DRY CAMERA CASE
Depending on weather conditions, guests may tour Cocos Island. This is a "wet" landing by dinghy, so photographers should bring a waterproof case such as
a Pelican Case for their cameras. The land tour is at the Captain's discretion.
DIVE GEAR SUGGESTIONS
We suggest you pack the following: mask, fins,snorkel, regulator with visible pressure gauge, depth gauge, dive computer, buoyancy compensator, and dive gloves.

Meals

The menu board is varied and plentiful, with a variety of American feasts, barbecues and local cuisine. Wake up to fresh fruits, hot entrees, cereals
and juices. Lunches are buffet-style, featuring hot soups, homemade breads, salads and sandwiches and/or entrees. Dinners are diverse, including
seafood, beef or chicken. Each evening, enjoy fresh homemade desserts. Please notify our office of special dietary requests as well as speak to the ships
Chef after boarding.
BEVERAGES
Soft drinks, ice tea, beer, and wine are
complimentary. Due to the high duty
charged on liquor, we suggest you bring
your special brand from the U.S. Due to
local regulations; the bar will be closed while the boat is in port. Drinking and diving do not
mix. Once you consume alcohol, you become a snorkeler until the next day
