Economy Flexi Drive Package
Explore on your own! You go as you please, choosing hotels and lodges from the category you selected. There are 58 hotels in this category, covering almost the whole country. In order to receive the discounted rates, advance bookings at the selected hotels are not accepted. You may however; call in advance to see if a room is available. When calling or checking in, you must identify yourself as a Costa Rican Trails Freedom tour client.
Day 01 San Jose :
Meet and greet at the airport and transfer an transfer to your hotel.
Overnight at the Fleur de Lys in San Jose (pre-booked)
Day 02 San Jose "Flexi-drive" :
Briefing at the Hotel and discussion of the best route and choices of hotels. A 4x4 vehicle will be dropped off at the hotel and then you are off to explore Costa Rica on your own.

Day 03-07 Flexi-Drive :
Drive through scenic Costa Rica and experience its natural wonders and adventurous landscapes. You have a choice of 58 hotels scattered throughout the most visited and popular areas of the country. Some of the areas included are: Arenal, Monteverde, Jaco, Guanacaste, Sarapiqui, Montezuma, Manuel Antonio among others.

Day 08 San Jose - DEPARTURE or extend your stay. :
Drive to the international airport; drop off car and departure flight.

What to Bring (General Info)

Clothing: Costa Rica is a very informal and casual country. Formal attire is only used in the city of San Jose and on very special occasions (Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries)

We recommend to bring a sweater for the highland areas, and light loose fitting shirts, pants or jeans, and shorts for the lowland areas.

For the beach areas please don't forget to bring a hat or cap, sunscreen, and sun glasses.

For the rainforest and the National Parks we recommend hiking boots, a small backpack, water bottle, pocket knife, flashlight, insect repellent, rainwear, and a pair of binoculars to observe animals
