Volunteering in Costa Rica can come in many forms. My husband and I are both passionate about wildlife rescue. When we started our travel company some of the first trips we designed would later be called Volunteer Adventures.
Often volunteering requires a lengthy commitment that many travelers do not have. That is true in a lot of cases but not all. We can add in 4 or 8 hour wildlife volunteering experience into your overall adventure adding an educational and rewarding day to the overall adventure.
My husband and I decided a long time ago not to take any commissions from any tours at rehabilitation centers or volunteering experiences. We feel this money needs to stay with the shelters and so any commissions that are offered we do not accept. In addition, we donate money monthly to as many rehab centers as we can and YOU make that possible by traveling with us. From my husband and I and all of us at C.R. Referrals Travel, we thank you.

If you do have time for a lengthy stay and wanted to do a deeper volunteer experience of several weeks or more, and need help with the logistics of staying a month or more to meet those commitments, we can assist. We can plan trips for any length of time. If you are doing a home-stay and want to do some fun things on days off or need transfers we can help you with that too!
Volunteering is not limited to animal welfare. You can also help local schools, orphanages, and other local community projects. Ask your travel planner about what opportunities might be included in your Costa Rica itinerary.
